Colcharton Farmhouse is a working beef and sheep farm only 2 miles west of the Market Town of Tavistock, recently voted Best Market Town in the country. The farmhouse has stunning views of the Dartmoor National Park and makes an ideal base for touring Devon and Cornwall.
Tavistock’s most famous son, Sir Francis Drake visited and took tea at this 16th century farmhouse in the late 1500s. Stone figures taken from Tavistock Abbey adorn the impressive entrance.
Easy to locate just off the main A390, only a 20 minute drive from the A30 in the beautiful Tamar Valley where fields, trees and lovely country lanes are abundant with wild flowers in spring.
Children are welcome to the farmhouse at reduced rates, but regretfully no dogs are allowed as we are a working farm. We have a large car parking area and are a non-smoking establishment.
